Yudistiv V. Reedye

Senior Graphic Designer

I’m Yud, a Mauritian creative and Senior Art Manager with 12+ years of experience in Advertising, Branding, Illustration, and Digital Design. I merge discipline and imagination, designing visuals that carry emotion, purpose, and personality. My work flows across branding, art direction, & digital campaign. I love exploring new ideas, refining craft, and guiding juniors in creative development.

My Experience

Started as an Administrative Clerk at L'express

My career began at L’Express, one of the most renowned and respected journalism companies in Mauritius, known for its nationwide newspaper production and media presence. I worked as an Administrative Clerk in the Transport Department, where I managed logistics, coordinated daily routes, handled documentation, and ensured smooth operational flow.

Working in such a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment taught me discipline, organization, and time management. It strengthened my communication skills and taught me how to operate under pressure — foundations that later became invaluable in the creative industry, where precision, structure, and teamwork are essential.

Graduated in Graphic Design (UTM)

I originally dreamed of becoming an architect, but due to financial constraints, I chose a path that still aligned with my passion for creativity. This led me to pursue a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design at the University of Technology, Mauritius — a three-year program where I graduated with Second Class First Division.

My studies at UTM exposed me to a wide spectrum of creative disciplines:
Graphic Design, Photography, Videography, Animation, 3D Animation & Sculpting, Marketing, and visual communication. This multidisciplinary training shaped me into a versatile designer who understands not only aesthetics but also storytelling, branding, and visual strategy. It was during these years that I discovered my identity as a designer and built the foundation for the career I have today.

Graphic Designer at HS3 Printing (Pre-Press Experience)

Working at HS3, a dedicated printing shop, gave me hands-on experience in pre-press production — one of the most valuable technical foundations for any designer. I learned how to prepare artwork for flawless printing, manage color profiles, set bleeds and trims, handle layout corrections, and ensure every visual is production-ready.

Pre-press skills are crucial because they bridge the gap between what a designer creates and what the client actually receives. Understanding the printing process allows a designer to avoid costly mistakes, maintain color accuracy, improve efficiency, and deliver work that translates perfectly from screen to paper. HS3 sharpened my precision, technical awareness, and confidence in delivering high-quality final artwork.

Freelance Graphic Designer

After leaving prepress, I decided to try freelancing. It wasn’t a smooth or glamorous start — I had to learn a lot on my own and take on whatever projects came my way. During that period, I worked closely with large-format printers, which taught me how designs behave when scaled up for banners, posters, vehicle branding, and outdoor prints.

Freelancing helped me understand real client expectations, time pressure, and how to manage projects from start to finish. I didn’t land big jobs immediately, but the experience pushed me to grow, improve my workflow, and become more confident in handling different types of design work.

Senior Graphic Designer at Crayons Couleur Advertising Ltd

Joining Crayons Couleur was the point where my design skills really leveled up. Working in a full agency environment gave me exposure to national-level projects, tighter deadlines, and higher expectations. I had the chance to collaborate with different teams, handle bigger campaigns, and refine my style through constant practice and feedback.

After years of building experience, I eventually became the Senior Graphic Designer. This role pushed me to think more strategically, guide junior designers, and deliver work that matched the standards of both the agency and our clients. It’s during this time—over roughly seven years—that I became confident in my craft and developed the versatility I use today.

Freshkite Ltd – Senior Art Manager / Project Manager (NCR Voyix Freshop – U.S.)

Working at Freshkite Ltd gave me the opportunity to collaborate directly with NCR Voyix Freshop, a well-established U.S. company in the retail and e-commerce industry. I began as a Project Manager, helping retailers bring their online stores to life and guiding them through the onboarding process. Over time, I also contributed creatively by helping develop design ideas for website templates presented to U.S. retailers.

In this role, I strengthened my management, presentation, and communication skills while refining my website design abilities and growing more confident as a creative professional. Later, I supported the App Team with bi-weekly app releases, gaining hands-on experience with GitHub, Google Play Console, and Apple’s platform to complete final release steps.

In parallel, I managed Freshkite’s LinkedIn page during any important event, where I created animated videos on a recurring basis to boost visibility and engagement.
